Lovecraft, Winter, and Stuff

I've been a fan of H.P. Lovecraft since college when I first read The Call of Cthulhu, The Shadow Over Innsmouth, and At the Mountains of Madness in that order. Of course I've since read the rest of his works and he has been a favorite ever since(though I dislike the word "fan," I'd prefer "amateur Lovecraft scholar" but I'd have to kick my own ass for that).

Since then I've come to associate the winter season with Lovecraft and the Cthulhu Mythos, for what reason I don't know. But I do!

That's why, in the first major month-long postings for this blog, I'll be doing Lovecraft In December! Once a day I'll spotlight a Lovecraftian thing of some kind that I own for the entire month starting the 1st! I'm thinking of doing theme weeks just to make it a little easier and more organic for a first-time blog post, but we'll play it sorta loose and wild.

It'll probably be a mish-mash of books, various odds and ends I have, my small Cthulhu idol collection, etc. I think I have a month's worth of crap to show off and brag about!

This endeavor is inspired by the Whispers From The Ghooric Zone's Lovecraftian Thing A Day year-long epic that he's currently in the process of wrapping up. I believe he's only done it once before in 2016 but man is it a trip and a half. I discovered so much crap I've downloaded or saved to wishlists or bookmarked. So check that and his blog at large out because it's pretty great!

So long story short, I'll see you in December with some Christmas Cheer and Cosmic Dread!

See you soon!

Welcome!

Welcome to MidwestManster! A blog devoted to spooky things that I do and encounter.

I'll be posting any props I make or things I buy or even some of my future short films! As well as vlogs I make, if any.

Stay a while, won't you?
